Leadership Team

Bridget Duffy, M.D., is a physician and a former dental hygienist. She was the nation’s first chief experience officer in health care. At the Cleveland Clinic she established the Office of Patient Experience and tied it to measurable results, including patient satisfaction and staff engagement.

She co-founded ExperiaHealth and served as its CEO, then became Chief Medical Officer of Vocera. She was a pioneer in the creation of hospitalist programs and integrative and heart-brain medicine. Throughout her career she has led global conversations on the role human-centered technology can play in protecting the safety and well-being of health care workers, patients, families and communities.

Dr. Duffy became Peak’s CEO in January 2026. Peak is now the first dental services organization in the country to apply a human-centered design framework to the experience of its clinicians and patients. Her premise is that investing in people drives higher quality care and sustainable financial growth. To measure progress, Peak uses the SCORE survey, a peer-reviewed well-being assessment developed at Duke Health and used in more than 30 countries.

Dr. Duffy earned her medical degree at the University of Minnesota and completed her residency in internal medicine at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis. She co-founded the National Taskforce for Humanity in Healthcare and serves on the boards of PathAI, Vital.io and Reel Medicine Media.

Dr. Carrie Mauterer started in dentistry as a dental assistant in 1996. Thirty years later, she is Peak’s chief well-being and quality officer, the first in U.S. dentistry, and she has served Peak’s patients for nine years.

She supports the belief that clinicians who have autonomy, resources, connection and work-life balance are better equipped to care for their patients and their teams.

Dr. Mauterer is a past president of the Colorado Dental Association and a Fellow of the Pierre Fauchard Academy, the American College of Dentists and the International College of Dentists. She is a Certified Clinical Director with the American Dental Association.

She earned her D.D.S. at the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine, after a B.A. in kinesiology from the University of Colorado.

Dr. Anthony Lere is Peak’s chief experience officer, the first in dentistry, and he still practices chairside. He leads Peak’s clinical directors in shaping its strategy and philosophy of care. Before joining Peak eight years ago, he owned a private practice.

He leads through service. In his view, the best leaders put the needs of others first and create opportunities for the people around them to thrive.

He believes clinicians give patients their best when they know they will have what they need, with clinical teammates behind them all the way up to the CEO.

Dr. Lere serves on Peak’s Clinical Cabinet and a Dental Materials committee, and he is executive sponsor of Peak’s Center of Excellence.

He was a Colorado Dental Association delegate in 2009 and earned his D.D.S. at the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine.

Dr. Michael Woodbeck holds both a dental and a medical degree and specializes in oral and maxillofacial surgery. He received the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal for his leadership within the Royal Canadian Dental Corps. He has spent 17 years in dentistry, five of them at Peak.

He finds genuine enjoyment in solving a clinical puzzle, and it matters to him to work alongside peers who make him feel connected and valued. As a leader, he meets people where they are. He recognizes when a difficult conversation needs to happen and finds a thoughtful, constructive way to have it.

Dr. Woodbeck earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine at the University of British Columbia and his Doctor of Medicine at McGovern Medical School, and he completed oral and maxillofacial surgery training at the University of Texas at Houston School of Dentistry.

He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, a Fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and the Royal Canadian Dental College, certified by the National Dental Examining Board of Canada and a member of the Colorado Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

Krystal Than is Peak’s chief transformation and people officer. At a national retailer, as regional director of human resources, she led HR for 30,000 employees across 100 locations in Colorado, Wyoming and Montana. She has been with Peak for more than four years.

Krystal leads by earning trust rather than relying on authority. She balances business performance with culture, clarity and well-being, enabling teams to embrace innovation while delivering a distinctive patient experience.

Her human resources career includes chief human resources officer of an eye care organization, executive vice president roles at two other companies and vice president of HR at a title insurance company.

She has served on the board of Firefly Autism for the past 11 years. She holds a bachelor’s degree in human resources from the University of Colorado Leeds School of Business.

As Peak’s chief financial officer, Kobe Watson models the approachable, attentive and hands-on leadership he values. He believes treating people with respect and clearing operational obstacles allows providers to focus more fully on patient care. He invests time in helping each person understand how their contributions advance Peak’s success.

Kobe has spent three years in dentistry and has held director-level finance roles at a multispecialty medical group, a specialty dental organization and a fertility care provider.

He holds an MBA with an accountancy concentration and a bachelor’s degree in business with a major in accounting, both from Eastern Illinois University.

Andrea Hill is Peak’s chief marketing officer, and she has spent more than a decade in dentistry. She sees clinician well-being and the patient experience as deeply connected: clinicians who can thrive are better able to deliver the exceptional, compassionate care patients deserve. Andrea leads with that in mind.

She puts her team’s needs, growth and success first, creates clarity, clears obstacles and develops the people around her so they can stay focused and show up at their best for each other and for patients.

Before Peak, Andrea was vice president of marketing at a regional dental and orthodontic group in California. She holds an MBA in marketing and a bachelor’s degree in business management from Sacramento State University.

Tiffany Howerton is a registered dental hygienist and Peak’s vice president of operations. She has 20 years’ experience in dentistry across clinical, operational and executive leadership roles, including at a national dental organization.

She leads with both accountability and empathy. Tiffany cares about getting results, and she cares about the people behind them. She makes a concerted effort to stay present and approachable, to truly listen and to help remove roadblocks, and she strives to create an environment where people feel supported, safe, seen and heard while still being challenged and empowered to do their best work.

Tiffany holds a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene. She received the 2024 Women in DSO Leadership Award, delivered a keynote at the American Dental Hygienists’ Association Leadership Summit, presented at Women in DSO Empower and Grow and served on the Women in Dentistry exChange Circle leadership panel.

Dr. Scott Frederick trains the doctors who join Peak. He has been Peak’s clinical director since 2016 and works with the hygiene and specialty directors on the patient experience across every location.

He has taught clear aligner courses and treatment planning workshops to doctors. He has spoken for Peak on reaching clinical excellence in 90 days, and he has presented at Colorado Dental Association meetings and the national convention of the American Academy of Clear Aligners.

Dr. Frederick served as a general dental officer in the U.S. Army Dental Corps from 2007 to 2011. In 2010 he deployed to Afghanistan as brigade dental surgeon with the 101st Airborne Division and was officer in charge of the only dental clinic in northeastern Afghanistan. He is a three-time recipient of the Army Commendation Medal.

He earned his D.D.S. at the University of Southern California School of Dentistry in 2007 and a bachelor’s degree in biochemistry at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. He is a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry and served on the board of the American Academy of Clear Aligners from 2018 to 2023.

Dr. Michael Zachar serves as Specialty Clinical Director at Peak Dental Services. He is a board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon and a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He is also a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.

Dr. Zachar earned his D.D.S. at the University of Iowa. Outside of dentistry, he enjoys spending time with his wife and their two children, playing golf and pickleball, and cheering for the Iowa Hawkeyes and Chicago Cubs.
